Speaker interview: Gary Kuo, Precise New Material
Up next in our speaker interview series, we were joined by Gary Kuo who is Marketing Director of Precise New Material. He will be speaking at
the Compounding World Expo theatre two, investigating the use of ultra-high-concentrated pigment preparations in polymer applications.
Precise New Material (PNM) specializes in colorants for plastic coloring. Their products include organic pigment, solvent dye, pigment preparation and mono masterbatch (SPC). Over the past 20 years, PNM has been committed to resin-applicable colorants. Now PNM has become a major player of solvent dyes and pigments with an annual output of 5,000 tons, the maximum capacity is 8,000 tons of powder colors, and more than 6,000 tons of pigment preparations and mono masterbatch.
What do you think sets your company apart from your competitors?
PNM focus on innovation of plastic colorants. We provide valuable solutions for many well-known customers around the world. For example, our Preperse pigment preparation meets a very high pigment content which is over 70% for all organic pigments, but achieve excellent dispersibility.
Are there any new technology developments that your company is working on at the moment?
Technique for pigment dispersion with high pigment value in preparation form.
What are the biggest challenges facing the industry today, and how can this be overcome?
One of the solutions is to use clean and easy-disperse pigments.
How do you see the sector developing in the next five to ten years?
The modifier plastic will experience significant growth in the coming years due to the increasing demand for plastic products in various end-use industries such as construction, automotive, packaging and electronics. Technological advancements and rising environmental concerns will also drive the demand for sustainable and eco-friendly plastic additives. Some of the key trends that could shape the modifier plastic industry include the development of bio-based additives, the use of nanotechnology, and increased use of additives to improve recyclability and reusability of plastics.
