The launch of Compounding World Expo and Plastics Recycling World Expo in 2018 in Essen, Germany received an overwhelming positive response from the plastics industry. The co-located events created a marketplace for stakeholders from across the supply chain to make new connections, source innovative technology and grow their business. Attendees came away from this event energised from 2 days of networking and learning.

The exhibition hosted over 180 exhibitors demonstrating their latest technology and services from every part of the plastics supply chain from raw materials to end-of-life solutions. Visitors had a combined purchasing budget of over €4.6 billion.

Running alongside the exhibition was the Compounding World Expo and Plastics Recycling World Expo conference, where speakers demonstrated their expertise on the biggest issues facing the industry and their predictions for the future.

Peter Wiedemann

WIPAG

Peter Wiedemann, born 1958, studied Chemical Engineering 1977 to 1981 at the University of Applied Sciences in Nürnberg. Until 1991 he worked as application specialist and sales manager for fillers, antioxidants and additives for plastics and rubber.

1991 he started WIPAG in Neuburg (Donau) together with his wife Renate Wiedemann. Originally planned as a compounder, WIPAG quickly developed to a leading player in the recycling of plastics and composites for the automotive industry.

Especially the technologies of secondary carbon fiber compounding, separation of multi-layer composites and the paint removal from plastic substrates allow a high-level reuse of plastic recyclates originating from production scrap and also end-of-life cars.
