The launch of Compounding World Expo and Plastics Recycling World Expo in 2018 in Essen, Germany received an overwhelming positive response from the plastics industry. The co-located events created a marketplace for stakeholders from across the supply chain to make new connections, source innovative technology and grow their business. Attendees came away from this event energised from 2 days of networking and learning.  

The exhibition hosted over 180 exhibitors demonstrating their latest technology and services from every part of the plastics supply chain from raw materials to end-of-life solutions. Visitors had a combined purchasing budget of over €4.6 billion.

Keith Freegard
Business Development Director

Keith Freegard is a Director and founder of Axion Recycling Ltd, one of the UK’s leading recycling businesses in the waste materials recovery industry. He has over 30 years of operational management experience gained in a variety of manufacturing environments, ranging from Factory Manager for Domestos liquid bleach with Unilever, to a start-up business for a novel biodegradable packaging product called ‘GreenFill’ made from natural wheat flour. As a Chartered Chemical Engineer and MBA, Keith believes in applying the best possible process-plant technology to extract maximum yield and value from mixed material waste streams. Over the last 15 years he has led the development Axion’s unique End-of-Life vehicle recycling business in Manchester with a focus on sales and marketing of high-quality plastics, aggregates and alternative fuels made from recovered ELV & WEEE  waste streams. He is Vice Chairman of the British Plastic Federation’s Recycling Group and a non-Executive Director of OPRL – the on-pack recycling label scheme for consumer packaging.
