Pieter Imhof holds degrees in chemistry and economics, and has a Ph.D. in organometallic chemistry from the University of Amsterdam.

Pieter started his career at Akzo Nobel where he held various management positions in R&D, Technical Service, Marketing and Product Development. In 2005 he moved to Avantium Chemicals where he was responsible for Business Development, Sales & Marketing and Strategic Account Management. In 2017 Pieter joined BioBTX as CEO, mainly oriented at making BioBTX’ catalytic pyrolysis technology ready for commercialization. Currently Pieter is senior Business developer at TNO, with a focus on circularity of plastics in the Circular economy and Environment unit
